Dimsum at Pacificana, Sunset Park, Brooklyn

Pacificana was introduced to us by friends  one Sunday afternoon. Dimsum brunches are among my favorite things so I am always on the lookout for new places. We usually just make the trek to our favorite joint in the city (Golden Unicorn) since it’s logistically easier for us, but Pacificana now gives us a reason to make the trip to Brooklyn’s Chinatown in Sunset Park, usually followed by a shopping spree at Hong Kong Supermarket.

Fried dough wrapped in rice noodles.

Of course there is generic dimsum. Most places serve food that is good enough, and give the impression that they must source all their food from the same place and just steam and heat everything before offering them in carts. And then there is the exceptional dimsum place where you can tell it’s special, not just by the lengthy wait, but by your first bite. Either that or they just have better lighting. 🙂

I’m a fan and I will be back! Some photos of the carnage below.

Lovely sesame braised short ribs.

Steamed choy sum yum yum yum.

The array of goodness. Steamed pork buns in the foreground, shu mai, short ribs, fried squid. Heaven.
